About the event

A very special memorial event to celebrate the life of

John Graham Rhoden “ Graham”

21:5:1945 - 13:3:2023

What more can be said about a man who has had so much said about him already. It seems the whole of Doncaster had some attachment to Graham in one way or another. But most of us reading this page will know Graham as'' The man that built the Doncaster Warehouse.” not literally, but he is the man that laid the foundations for what turned out to be one of the most iconic underground dance venues in the UK, and probably even in europe. When you look at this old battlescarred building towering above everything around it on the old Great North Road at the center of Doncaster it is easy to ask yourself “how is this so ? ” A Building that has seen off numerous floods, a fire which tore through the building destroying the roof and the floor below it, and to cap it all a pandemic which threatened to close its doors forever. And all that is just in the last 20 years alone. A building that most people walking past think is just a blot on the landscape and has been closed for years. What they don't see, is what really matters, and is also the answer to the question above “It’s on the inside what matters” If you know, then you know, if you don't, well, it's time to wake up and experience it for yourself, before it's too late.

Graham acquired the building in the late  80s, just in time for the early 90s which brought with it a new youth movement, and Graham did not take much persuading by 2 local DJs (Crook & Merlin) to capitalize on it. RAVE was the new scene and every youth wanted to experience it.

Doncaster Warehouse was born. It’s legacy has now passed from generation to generation and

over the years tens of thousands of clubbers have passed through its doors to experience many different genres of dance oriented music and this event is designed to celebrate each chapter this legendary venue has gone through, from hardcore rave in the 90s, the hard dance of the naughties, the mixed genres of the 2010s and today's multi brand events. Young or oldish, there is no defining line, we are all one, we all have something in common, and the very best way we can all show our respects to “the man that did”, is too support this event, all the DJs and MC’s are donating their wages along with all the door proceeds to a charity which was supported by Graham. Thank you all for your support over the past 30+ years.

Peace : Love : Unity

R.I.P Graham.

What you left behind, is not what is etched onto a monument, but what is woven into the lives of others. Nuff Sed
